That evening we drove to Bologna and had dinner, went to the hotel, and checked out the oldest University in Europe, possibly in the world. We arrived late at night and it seemed everyone was out in the city enjoying the night life.
That morning we drove to Cremona, home of Stradivarius, and others of the greatest violin makers in history. Nate took me to the Museum of the Violin where we saw the history of the violin as well as several of the most beautiful instruments. I hope no one saw me drooling. It was just amazing.
Afterward we went to the oldest violin workshop on Cremona, and got to see a violin maker at work. He holds to the traditions of the past, and makes everything by hand including the varnish. It was so amazing to see and feel the labor of love it is to make a violin. I see my violin differently now and love it even more.
Afterward we walked thirty seconds and saw the home of Stradivarius where he lived with his wife. Loved this little charming city.
