Native American Indian Museum and the Air and Space

Today we dropped Nate off at the Pentagon, so we decided to make a day of it downtown. We started off at the Farmer's Market which takes place every Friday morning from 9-2 pm right next to the Department of Agriculture. President Benson was the director of this Department back in the day, so I think of him every time I pass that building. He was the Prophet when I was very young. When the Museums opened up at 10, we headed over to the Native American Indian museum. I was thoroughly impressed. I learned so much and we only covered part of one floor of four . I will definitely be going back. The children's center was especially impressive. There was a story time when we first arrived, a craft area, and everything was well done and so interactive. After a quick picnic lunch that we packed from home, we started to go back to our car (which was parked as usual at the Jefferson Memorial - free all day parking, it's the best - plus a beautiful walk). However, Stanley fell asleep, and Mason begged me to go into the Air and Space Museum, so we did. While Stanley slept, Mason tried every machine possible. He has an intense fascination for flight apparently :). I especially enjoyed the newly finished Wright Brothers section of the Museum. I read part of the book about the Wright Brothers by David McCullough on our last trip from Virginia to Utah with my Parents, so it was fun to see it all up close. I believe they have the original plane there on display. Tonight we faced unbelievable traffic to go to the Temple (sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven right?), and enjoyed such a sweet time there! It feels like heaven to me. We enjoyed some dinner afterwards and then drove back home. So nice to be close to the Temple. I've missed that.

Stanley kept winning this game over and over again I couldn't help but laugh. He was so quick on the draw and kept guessing right that I finally had to say, "Stan, give the other boys a chance!". haha. His new nickname I think will be "lucky".

Story time about 5 brothers who landed on the Islands of Hawaii. Somebody hit the jackpot that day :).

I looked over, and there was Stanley in the canoe.
