Day 5 in NYC was again sans Nate since he was working still for the Oceans Law Conference, so Mason and Stanley and I braved the city on our own for most of the day with Laura's help. It was good! We started out walking down the street to Bryant Park and ran into a children's story time. We randomly arrived 2 minutes before start time and it was the most amazing children's story time I've probably ever seen. This girl maybe should have been on broadway, but we were lucky enough to get her ourselves. From there we checked out the NYC library right next store, and then a couple more blocks down the street to Times Square. Mason and Stanley got a thrill out of all of the lights and characters dressed up. I don't love spending too much time there since it's a little too much for me (hello farmer's daughter), but it's exciting if you are there for about 5 minutes. We walked by the Disney store, and found Cohan's statue. From there we took the subway to Battery Park and met up with a fun friend of mine from Charlottesville, who's husband is interning in the city. She is just the best, and my cousin Laura loved talking to her as well. We also checked out the musical swings and had a hard time pulling our boys away from there, but somehow were able to. That night we met up with Nate, grabbed a Carnegie Deli sandwich and Jr's, cheesecake. Success!
